Before the S/S 10 runway shows you could type clogs into Google and feel quite confident that the most interesting piece of information you would find would be this:
“It is all up and down fighting here. They fought quite naked, excepting their clogs. When one has the other down on the ground he first endeavors to choke him by squeezing his throat, then he kicks him on the head with his clogs. Sometimes they are very severely injured.”

Or perhaps you would be mildly surprised to find that there are several online shoe shops completely dedicated to clogs which would imply that there was already a market for this before Chanel sent them down the runway.

I personally cannot see myself embracing this trend even the prettily decorated Chanel versions, because while I can admire them from afar I do think that they would be a little to close to my eyes on my feet. Who knows, perhaps the perfect clog is just around the corner. Topshop has already climbed aboard the clog train with their heeled lottie clog mules and Urban outfitters boasts a pair of clogs from the brand ‘swedish hasbeens’. Not to mention Alexa Chung has already been pictured sporting hers at Chanels’ Haute couture show. It’s apparent that regardless of the split views on these shoes, clogs are definitely a trend that is working its way off the runway and onto the streets.
