The very 1st FASHBASHSOUNDCLASH happened on Sat 20th September, 2008 in a super- fly, super secret location (ok not that secret, all my friends knew) in Shoreditch from 10pm..
After allot of venue hunting on mine and Wale's part, Wale found this gem of a venue right in the heart of Shoreditch. When I saw the venue it immediately transported me back to the days of Warehouse raves in secret locations and we knew we could have a good party there. Two weeks and allot of stressful phone calls later we were preparing the venue for the throwdown.
Wale and his team had gone to so much effort to make the party special, dressing mannequins in various designs, buying free drinks, which their lovely and super- glam lady helpers gave out to guests as they entered, even installing a red carpet for the evening although guests did have to complete ''challenge Annika'' to actually find the entrance down a hidden alley way off Shoreditch High Street..
Wale and myself (DJ NIKKI) would like to thank everyone who came down on the night, it was a great turnout- thanks for making the effort You all looked fabulous. I was happy as I got to spin some old hip hop tunes that you are not allowed to play in most clubs these days.. lol..we even had a P.A. A great night was had by all and people didn't want to go home at 3pm when the lights were switched on.
